HOW TO USE PHIM2 (PRENTICE-HALL INTERACTIVE MATH2):

To install Interactive Math 2:
Read the installation instructions included in your software package labeled "INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION".  You can also go to Interactive Math Installation.  If you need tech assistance, call Prentice-Hall support at 1-888-6577 and select option 3.  The PHIM techs will assist you with any installation problems.
Software Downloads:
The CD included in your text package will contain all the software downloads you will need to use the program.  You can also go the the PHIM web site for downloads.  For any installation problems, contact the PHIM tech team immediately.

Plugins Provided on the Prentice Hall Interactive Math 2 CD-ROM:

QuickTime 5  or higher (Link to QuickTime Website for installation of QuickTime 6)
Shockwave 6 Player (Link to Macromedia Website for installation)
TestGen-EQ  Plug-in
Flash 6 Player (Link to Macromedia Website for installation)
Java 1.3.1 Plug-in

Other Installation Considerations:  If you have anti-virus software installed or a firewall that is interfering with your PHIM installation, call the tech team for assistance.  Some installations require the additional TestGen-EQ plugin located at www.phinteractivemath2.com.

To log onto PHIM2 (Prentice-Hall Interactive Math):
Login:  user name [what you have chosen] .
Password:  what you have chosen.

Now go to Open Syllabus
You will now to through The Interactive Math2 Product Orientation.  This orientation is important in order for you to understand how to use your course software.    Information is also available in the "Student Handbook" included in your Interactive Math 2 Elementary Algebra package.

After sending this form I will e-mail you the course code, you will need this to begin working in PHIM2 .

I also understand that it is my responsibility to complete all assignments in a timely manner and that my grade will suffer should my assignments not be completed by the deadline.

I promise that all work performed and submitted in this class will be my own.  I understand that should any section assessment, test, or exam performed in this class be determined not to be of my own work that I will then be subject to disciplinary measures as stated in the syllabus and as outlined in the college catalog.

I understand that MAT 0024 has a dual passing requirement:

  1. I must pass the course with a C or higher.
  2. I must pass the Exit Exam with a 60% or better score.
I understand that I must have a C in the course requirements including the midterm exam to be eligible to take the exit exam.

I agree to take the midterm exam at the test site and times I have indicated on the Test Location Form.

I agree to take the exit exam with my instructor at the time and date to be posted in the course Announcements.

I understand that if I do not pass the exit exam with a 60% or higher score that I am only eligible for a retake exam if I have a C in the course including the midterm exam.

I understand that a calculator will not be allowed on the proctored written exams.

I understand that by emailing this form I have electronically signed the Course Contract and agreed to the policies and conditions of the course as outlined under "Syllabus" and "Course Contract" in Blackboard.
