Homework:

Assignments will be available in Blackboard and are to be submitted at the Blackboard course site. You will need additional time outside of class to complete the assignments. Class time will be used to initially introduce you to the topic at hand and will involve intensive hands-on sessions. There may be little time for doing your homework in class. The assignments will be averaged together and that average will represent 20% of your final grade.

Tests:

Five tests will be given for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, and a comprehensive Final Exam. The average of the four tests will represent 50% of your final grade. The Final Exam will represent 10%, Internet quiz and activities will represent 10%, homework assignments will represent 20%, and class PowerPoint presentation will represent 10%. Tests will be taken and scored using SAM (Skills Assessment Manager).

Attendance:

Attendance is taken during each class meeting. After missing four classes, your final grade will be lowered one full letter grade. After eight absences, you will be given a grade of FN (failure for non-attendance).

Make-up tests:

If you miss an exam, it is not automatic that you are allowed to make it up at your convenience. You will have prior notification on all exams; therefore, make every attempt to be present for exams. If for some reason you cannot be present for an exam, send me an e-mail or give me a phone call, and be prepared to back up your
reasons for not being able to attend an exam day with documentation.

Academic Dishonesty:

Any student suspected or caught copying and/or swapping files, papers, software, etc. will be given a grade of F.
